The organ is
the first polyphonic instrument, first orchestra even before
the orchestra. Its sound seems to be never-ending, and
its musicality evokes the idea of philosophical duration
through its eternity.
The organ was the first mechanized instrument, and can be
an immense machine which has existed for almost twenty three
centuries. The instrument has progressed technically
in the design of bellows, acoustics, key action transmission,
and even nowadays in the areas of electricity and electronics!
All of this is explained and detailed for you in our shop
tour, which also gives you an occasion to appreciate
all the techniques used at Williamson Warne & Associates, techniques which
give us our reputation of quality recognized by our clients.
For those who cannot participate in a shop
tour, this part of our site offers you a summary of organ
history, bibliographies and discographies, links to complementary
sites, and glossaries to find definitions needed in English,
French, German, Italian, Spanish, and Scandinavian.
