Pictured
is the new façade casework and 8' Principal
of the instrument. The new casework, constructed
in our shop, is made of white oak, and finished to
enhance the beauty of the instrument. The new 8'
façade Principal, with its gold finish, is
amongst other additions being clone to the instrument.
The casework possesses a unique feature at its
crown. The 'Luther Rose', specially designed in
our artistic department, is a sealed transparency
using both ambient as well as artificial lighting
for a 'stained glass' effect.
The organ was severely damaged and rendered unplayable
in the 1994 Northridge earthquake, as well as some
water damage it received after the earthquake.
All of the water and earthquake damage was repaired
and new encasement and façade were constructed.
Additional bracing was added to assist in securing
the instrument.
New unit windchests were constructed for the façade,
and a new pitman windchest was constructed for
the new 8' Holz Gedackt and 8' Gemshorn Celeste,
as well as the remaining preparations in the Swell.
The organ is being controlled by a new solid state
multiplex and multi-level combination action.
